Australia's Federal Court has dismissed an appeal by the securities regulator against fintech firm Finder, ruling that its crypto yield product did not violate financial laws. The decision marks the end of a three-year legal battle over the classification of Finder Earn.

Judges determined TrueAUD stablecoin constitutes property rather than money, exempting it from debenture regulations. The court found no evidence of customer loans or deposits through Finder Wallet during the product's operational period from February to November 2022.

This landmark ruling provides regulatory clarity for crypto yield products in Australia, reinforcing the legal distinction between digital assets and traditional financial instruments. The outcome sets a precedent for similar cases involving stablecoin-based financial services.
